Built on Experience, Driven by Passion

Peak Thrills Engineering was founded by structural engineer Dan Peak to serve the unique demands of the entertainment industry. Dan’s background includes amusement rides, concert staging, and temporary structures, enabling Peak Thrills to offer a versatile range of services that’s as unique as the amusement industry itself.

Dan brings twenty years of structural experience to the table. His storied career began at Schafer, a Cincinnati-based structural engineering firm, where he served as a structural engineer and project manager for a diverse portfolio of projects, including commercial, higher education, medical, theater, and entertainment. Dan supported Schafer for ten years before joining Clark-Reder Engineering, where he designed stage structures, roller coaster foundations, and more. Dan’s portfolio included the foundations for award-winning roller coasters like Mystic Timbers, Banshee, and Orion at Kings Island, Copperhead Strike at Carowinds, and Wild Mouse at Cedar Point. Dan also designed the structure for several wooden roller coasters for Skyline Attractions and Great Coasters International, Inc., including Roaring Timbers at Sun World Hon Thom Nature Park and Mad Racers at OCT Xiangyang.

Dan later served as the Lead Structural Engineer with Skyline Attractions, continuing to support the design and engineering of wooden roller coaster structures like Zambezi Zinger at Worlds of Fun and the massive, high-speed Colossus at Six Flags Qiddiya in Saudi Arabia.

In addition to permanent thrill rides, Dan has also engineered structures for some of the world’s biggest live events, supporting productions for artists like Taylor Swift, and working behind the scenes to ensure temporary stages, rigging, and event infrastructure are both safe and show-ready.

Today, Peak Thrills Engineering brings that same level of care, creativity, and structural precision to projects across the entertainment landscape, from amusement parks and trampoline centers to immersive art installations and touring productions.
